Nottinghamshire Police Chairman Mark PETROVIC today laid a wreath at the memorial to PC Chris McDONALD today at Headquarters, on the anniversary of his death in 1978.

His parents, sister Elaine and other family members were also in attendance as well as the Chief Constable Craig GUILDFORD.

We lay a wreath each year on behalf of our members, to remember Chris who was on duty that day serving the Nottinghamshire public. He was taken far too soon in tragic circumstances.

I am immensely proud to honour that young officer today in the presence of his family.

The floral tribute will remain by the memorial, and I encourage officers and police staff to visit the site, reflect on the contributions of this fine officer, and pay their respects.
