Chairman Mark Petrovic

Mark Petrovic said “These headlines do not reflect what I see happening in Nottinghamshire on a daily basis. Over the last few years many of our colleagues have been working incredibly hard and have been selfless and committed in protecting the public. Reduced budgets and austerity were inevitably bound to effect the levels of service we can offer.”

“But the headlines are ‘old’ news and we now have a government who recognise the effects of the past and the aggressive budget cuts. They are listening to the credible voices of our members about how to improve the public service and providing the necessary financing to turn things around and make things better.“

“All our officers want to detect more crime, as they understand the devastating effects criminality has on all victims. ‘Locking up the baddies’ runs through the hearts of all our officers. We will investigate all cases, including volume crime, and need the public to support us with information so that we can apprehend and prosecute those responsible.”

During the last HMICFRS inspection in Notting, the Inspector Zoe Billingham said “I am satisfied with most aspects of Nottinghamshire Police’s performance in keeping people safe and reducing crime. However, the force needs to continue to improve its efficiency in order to provide a consistently good service.

The force investigates crime well. I am particularly pleased that it has improved how it identifies and responds to vulnerable people and works effectively with other agencies to protect them.
